First it was Paula's b-day. Well not really. Her real birthday was the day before, but it was better timing to celebrate it the day after and what the four year old doesn't know, doesn't hurt her. Here's a picture of the party, and one of this weird fruit I have never seen before it's called a Stucklebeern... I think. Anyways, looks like a grape, has veins, prickly hairs and tastes like a kiwi. Bizarre.
After her party I went to meet up with Melanie. We went to McDonald's to meet up with her friends Judith, Kira, and Sahra. They are truely awesome. I got a kick out of their version of McDonald's it's different from America. Here's a picture of thier menu. Can you see the difference? Besides the language:
Afterwards we went to Kirchheim to watch "Football" (soccer for the Americans) at a public viewing. Basically streets were closed off and there were huge TVs everywhere and everyone drank a lot and cheered for their team.
People were crazy dressed up in support for their team. I, of course, was rooting for Germany. The other team was Turkey. See this is interesting because Turks and Germans have a strenuous relationship as it is, and then you add in competition and it could have gone badly very quickly. But that's okay because Germany won. If you want to see some really crazy people check out my flickr page, many photos there.
The celebration after we won was a lot like KU's Mass Street celebration. People climbing onto signs, fireworks, screaming, and then everyone climbed into cars and drove through the city in a large circle honking horns and waving flags out of windows for a few hours.
Friday I spent the day in for the most part and went out with Melanie and Sarah to eat and go dancing at the Coyote Bar. Yeah, and your's truely got to dance on the bar with the other coyotes. :) FUN!!!

Saturday started out with a bike ride to the local bakery with Alex to buy some goodies. I unfortunately tried to get out of a car's way and ran the side of the bike wheel into the curb and got hurt. But that's okay, because I got sympathy and two pasteries from the guy behind the counter. :) Here's what they look like, this one looks like one side came undone, but it tastes so good that really, who cares?
I hung out for a while then I went to meet Melanie for the bbq/picnic. I didn't really know what I was getting into, but I do now, and Tiffany hurts!!!
We started out by getting Judith, going shopping for things for the picnic. Tiffany found Pringles!!!!
Then we went to Melanie's house to prepare food where her parents made a show out of using their single English phrase with me. It was too cute. Melanie's mom was so nice and sweet. She really reminded me of my mom. She fed me watermelon and told me to come back anytime. :)
After everything was ready and people had arrived there were seven of us who bundled into two cars and off we went part way of a freaking mountain. I say part way because then we parked the car and walked the rest of the way toting all the food with us. Ugh. But the view. The view was freaking amazing, the company was awesome: there was 9 of us in total. I had an awesome time and introduced the Germans to smores. To see more of my fun go to flickr. The pictures are nothing short of amazing.
Unfortunately, we started to run out of wood after dark, and like an idiot I volunteer to go with Eddie and Judith to go get more. Yeah, that required walking down a hill in the pitch black and the grass was wet with dew. Yeah, I went down part of the way on my back. Ugh. But I had so much fun. :)
