What the HELL was I thinking???
On another strain of insanity, here is an email that I received from my good buddy Jessica. I hope it makes you laugh as much as it did me.
Tiffany looked up from her boarding pass. "I can't believe I'm really doing this, you guys." A semi circle of five sad faces stood a small distance away. One by one they came and gave her hugs. A chorus of goodbyes peppered with "we'll miss you's" and "don't forget to call's" echoed softly through the airport corridor. Tiffany turned, a single tear rolling down her cheek as she stepped forward in line. She looked back one last time, "I'll miss you guys." She said, then bent over as a man with meaty hands put on a rubber glove. "Got any liquids in there?" He said as another TSA officer rifled through her things
....One year later....
Tiffany skipped up the jetway. Fourteen hour flights positively fly by when you can afford first class seats, thanks to her new movie deal in Germany. As she exited the boarding area, six cheerful faces greeted her, nearly hidden behind a huge banner that read, "Welcome back, Tiffany! (What? We don't know German!)" and 8 dozen and three red balloons (do the math). "Hey guys, I'm so glad to see you!" Her eyes swept from one side to another. Jen was covered head to toe in a tattoo of a redneck fighting a dragon fighting a cobra wrapped in an ape. Joe was wearing a Porsche jacket talking on a sleek silver phone in Japanese. Zak's wrists were encased in handcuffs and an officer had a possessive hold on his elbow. He shrugged as her eyes passed over him. Jessica had green and purple hair held up by a ridiculous amount of barrettes. Nifer had a dark haired baby on each hip and a three year old jumping up and down by her knees. "Um...Nifer, is there something you'd like to tell me?" Tiffany asked. "What? Oh, no. I picked these up near baggage claim. They're merely for dramatic effect." She unceremoniously dropped the two babies and all three children ran toward a very disgruntled looking mother who shook her fist as she walked away muttering under her breath. Tiffany's eyes alighted on an unfamiliar face, "Who are you?" she asked. "Who, me?" Said the chain smoking 24 year old, "I'm the super talented person they picked up at auditions. You haven't met me." Tiffany smiled, linking arms with the group. "Let's all go home." She said, as they piled into the Hype 7 bus and rode off into the sunset.
Anyone else want to speculate on what it's going to be like in a year?
