Today was a pretty average day. Not average for a Friday- since I normally don't work Fridays, but average all the same. The girls played, went to visit friends, and put off going to bed as long as possible. The last part isn't anything new- except when it is.
Tonight I was in the final streach. The girls had watched a movie and gorged themselves on popcorn and some chips. A treat, since their parents were not home and would not be back until after they had gone to bed. I had them in their jammies, and getting ready to brush their teeth when Paula announces that she is hungry. Grrr... and to make matters worse, Carola hears what Paula has said and latches on declaring that she too is hungry.
But of course. Why not? It's not as if they couldn't have said something while they were watching the bleeding MOVIE! They declare that they want pasta. Which takes time since I don't have any made, and they think they have successfully fooled me into letting them stay up even later.
Uh... I don't THINK so!
Toast and kinderwurst is a wonder. And an explaination of the non-stupidness of me seems to have done wonders. Marching off to bed, they are now safely snuggling with their chosen stuffed animals.
I know kids all over the world stall, heck, I used to. So here's my thought. I want to hear from readers, what was a creative way you used to put off bedtime? That's right, time for you lazy people to sit up and test those keyboards. Talk to me, and help me keep my sanity. But hey, tomorrow is Saturday and I'm making plans to go into the city with Melly. Which makes me happy since I have only seen her once while picking up Paula from kindy since Seenachtfest... so about a month. That's a long time to go without my friends. ugh.
