Cycling and Recycling in Germany

Mom brought up an interesting subject that I would like to discuss in a blog. That is about Germans and their ablitiy to be extremely anal when it comes to recycling.
They have to conserve this, recycle that, and not use blah blah blah. It's a little crazy. I think it's kinda nice, Dorothee thinks they have kinda taken it too far.

Let's put it this way. This is the trash issue:

Plastics go in the yellow bag
Biodigradables in the brown,- What's biodigradable, that's being argued by the experts in the country, so we're left to guess.
Glass goes in Green
Paper goes in Silver--Unless they (the glass or paper) are returnable in which case they go into cases.
There are two flush buttons, the smaller is used for liquids... because that uses less water.
She is charged for the water, then charged again for the disposal of the water... including the water that goes into the ground. So basically she has to pay for it twice.

Complicated?? You betcha.

Is America helping with these problems.... nope
