Updates Updates Everywhere!

Tee hee. I got hit by the Special Stick Fairy. Tee hee.

I'm always so excited to hear from people reading my blog. I was really surprised when I found out that I was discovered (kind of like when the National Geographic does an issue on a new animal) by a future au pair and then passed on to a current au pair. Thusly, I'm special. :)

Things are pretty quiet here. Okay, I lied. They are quiet most of the time, but not in the morning when I'm trying to sleep. There's one thing about being an au pair which is rather icky. Which is that you are never truly "off". No. At 4:19am when you discover that the kids are up, playing in their rooms on a school day (no wait, that doesn't make it worse. It's bad any day of the week). You still get up, because it's that or no sleep anymore. You just don't find that in normal jobs. It's almost as if when you become an au pair you are married to your job. You may not remember reciting vows, but they were there. "For better or for worse. In sickness and in health. As long as I don't strangle you." Yeah, that's about right.

The girls and I are at it again. We are working on making another movie. Wait you might be saying. "Another movie?" you might be asking yourself. Well, yes. The girls and I made a movie which is actually quite cute, though it has never found it's way to youtube. Mostly because it was written by Carola, and involves me as the "prince" with a mustasche and sideburns. umm... yeah. But this new one is looking like it will be cute, so I may post it when I'm done...maybe. I have to tweek the script a bit more before we actually start taping. Then I edit and add music and such. Oh what fun.

People back in Kansas have beent telling me that they are going through a warm spell. Near 70s. To this I say *raspberry*. Yeah. It's been snowing for the last couple of days straight. It's pretty and right now the sun is shining even though it is snowing, but I still wouldn't mind having some of the nice spring/summer weather. So if you could kindly box up some sunshine and send it my way, I would be ever so grateful.

Oh, and I'm ignoring V-Day. No man, no plan, no... ugh. well, just no.

In the Air again, I can't wait to be in the air again....

I'm getting ready to head back to Germany in an hour. I've really enjoyed my time at home, but I'm ready for the next half of my adventure in Europe. I'm really going to miss somethings here- HOLLY!!! I'm really not looking forward to the flight though. I'm really hoping I can at least make it back without all the trouble I had coming here. Well, I've got to sign off and make sure I have everything I need. See ya in Germany!

Well, that was a bust

Maybe it's all my imagination- but I don't think that it is. Today my mom's family came from around the Emporia area and all congregated at my brother, Toby's, house in Kansas City. It's been a long time since my side of the family has hosted Christmas, and I thought this year would be nice. I was wrong. From the very beginning I felt snubbed. No hello Tiffany"'s except from my second cousin, Taylor, who is five, and my younger cousin Trey, who is eighteen. I had to approach my aunts and uncles and almost force them to give me a hug. It was so bad I actually had to ask my grandma if I had done something to upset her. It was very hurtful. But I'm still not sure if it was intentional, or if they even had any clue how their behavior was coming across.

My baby second cousin was there, I had only seen him once before I went to Europe and I was excited to get to play with him. I picked him up and my aunt ordered me to put him back down and said I couldn't play with him. Though everyone else was able to. Taylor said she wanted to sit by me at lunch- and my aunt said that she couldn't trust me. It was really mean. Plus- this may seem poor of me, but no one asked me about how it was in Germany- not one question, though all of them knew that I was there. I didn't expect to be the center of attention, but that was unexpected. I literally had to semi-force my grandma to sit down and look at a few of my pictures online. Needless to say I've had my fill of the extra family and am done.

But it was nice to hang out with my immediate family- including Nikki and Winston. Especially since with other people present they couldn't bother me about classes. :) Currently the family has left and it's just my family. Toby and Dad are tearing apart Toby's kitchen floor to see what lies beneath- they are hoping for wood floors. I don't think they are going to get their wish.

So that's how my day's going. Woo hoo...
